Dump Truck Safety

Dump trucks are essential to construction, mining, and transportation work across Canada. They move heavy bulk materials quickly and efficiently across a wide range of sites. But their size and weight make them unforgiving, and skipping a pre-shift inspection, overloading the body, or rushing a dump can lead to rollovers, power line contact, and other serious incidents. Proper training is what separates a safe, confident operator from a costly accident. In this course, you will learn how dump trucks work, how to inspect them, how stability and capacity affect safe operation, how to recognize and control common hazards, and how to handle loading, dumping, and emergency situations.
