Intro to Industrial Hygiene (CAN)
This is a Canada-compliant safety training course intended for anyone working around or near hazardous chemicals or other potentially hazardous materials. Topics covered in this training include anticipation, recognition, evaluation, evaluation, controls, and industrial hygiene program. This course meets the classroom requirement for occupational safety training. It also includes a proficiency checklist that employers can use to perform a practical evaluation. Upon completion, trainees will be able to download and print a certificate or wallet card to show that they have completed Canada Intro to Industrial Hygiene training . NOTE: Only an employer can designate an employee as certified. Certification requirements can vary by state or province. Check local standards for any additional occupational training requirements.

About This Course
Our Introduction to Industrial Hygiene training course is regulation compliant, and our online version fulfills classroom training requirements. Each class contains sections on anticipating hazards, recognizing hazards, evaluating hazards, controlling hazards, and the industrial hygiene program.
During this training, we will be taking a look at how industrial hygiene principles apply to the workplace. We will go over how hygienists anticipate hazards and recognize those that are already present on the job. We will discuss how hygienists and employees can evaluate the severity of a given hazard and identify control methods. We will also look at the elements of a successful industrial hygiene program. To conclude the training, we will review some investigated case studies that illustrate the pitfalls of ignoring industrial hygiene principles.
This presentation includes intermittent practice quiz questions to prepare for the final written exam included with the course. In addition to the written exam, this course also includes a checklist for employers to use when administering a practical exam as required by OSHA.
Estimated Training Length: Because everyone learns and progresses at different speeds, the amount of time you spend taking this training will vary. However, the estimated time for this training is 1 – 1.5 hours.

Is there a time limit for online courses?
Everyone learns at a different pace and everyone retains information differently. When you take a course online, you go at your own speed. If you get to a certain point and don’t fully understand the material, you can pause and go back for a review. On the other hand, if everything makes perfect sense, you can go straight through the entire course right to the test.
How does virtual proctoring/testing with webcam monitoring work?
When you start your test, you will be monitored via your webcam. If you disappear from the screen or appear to be consulting another device or other material, you will be disqualified from the course.
