About This Course
Canadian industry workers can and do get prosecuted under Occupational Health and Safety Law. Employers have a duty to explain to their workers, the provisions of Occupational Health and Safety Law, and why due diligence has special significance for workers. Conveying how safety laws work can be confusing and difficult to do, leaving workers with more questions than answers, so let this course help clarify some of those questions. By doing so, employers can help satisfy their legal obligation to inform their workers of Occupational Health and Safety Law.
Using animation, with a touch of humour, this training will emphasize why it is important for workers to understand Occupational Health and Safety Law. The setting is a fictional workplace, where sectors of the company have a great safety culture and in other sectors – well let’s just say there’s an opportunity for improvement.

Course Objectives
By taking this online Due Diligence for Workers training, learners will be able to:
- Recall three types of occupational health and safety laws
- Understand how due diligence applies to workers
- Associate the duties of others and why there must be progressive discipline when necessary
- Recognize the importance of documentation in a due diligence case
- Review the workers’ rights and how workers can influence one another
- Select ways workers can act duly diligent
- Select various types of precautions
- Understand how JSA information can be used on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), incident investigations, inspections, and so on.

- Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 75% must be achieved in order to pass this course. The course is able to be taken three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark.

Is there a time limit for online courses?
Everyone learns at a different pace and everyone retains information differently. When you take a course online, you go at your own speed. If you get to a certain point and don’t fully understand the material, you can pause and go back for a review. On the other hand, if everything makes perfect sense, you can go straight through the entire course right to the test.
How does virtual proctoring/testing with webcam monitoring work?
When you start your test, you will be monitored via your webcam. If you disappear from the screen or appear to be consulting another device or other material, you will be disqualified from the course.
