Lawnmower Safety (OSHA)

Lawnmowers keep lawns, parks, and other outdoor spaces trimmed and well maintained, and they make quick work of a job that would otherwise take hours by hand. But their spinning blades, high speeds, and heavy weight can turn dangerous fast, and skipping inspections or ignoring safe procedures can lead to serious cuts, amputations, roll-overs, and other life-altering injuries. This OSHA aligned course covers the essential knowledge you need to work safely, including mower types and components, personal protective equipment, safe transportation and operation, stability on slopes and near water, working in outdoor conditions, and emergency procedure

About This Course

Lawnmowers are valuable tools for maintaining lawns, parks, and other outdoor spaces, but their spinning blades, high speeds, and heavy weight make them dangerous when handled carelessly. Whether you're running a walk-behind mower, a ride-on machine, or a string trimmer, safe work depends on knowing your equipment, following proper procedures, and staying alert to hazards from both the machine and the environment around you. This course walks you through the essential safety practices you need to operate mowing equipment safely from the moment you arrive on site to the moment you leave.

Everyone learns at a different pace and everyone retains information differently. When you take a course online, you go at your own speed. On the other hand, if everything makes perfect sense, you can go straight through the entire course right to the test.

How does virtual proctoring/testing with webcam monitoring work?

When you start your test, you will be monitored via your webcam. If you disappear from the screen or appear to be consulting another device or other material, you will be disqualified from the course. The company responsible for virtual proctoring is Integrity Advocate. You can find out more about how their system works here.
