Rough Terrain (RT) Crane Safety

Rough terrain cranes are built to travel over rough, unprepared ground and set up quickly in tight spaces, making them a go-to machine for off-road construction and industrial lifting. When something goes wrong, though, the results can be catastrophic, with tip-overs, dropped loads, and powerline contact among the most dangerous events on any jobsite. Knowing how to inspect the machine, read a load chart, set up correctly, and recognize hazards is what keeps every lift safe. Learners will explore RT crane anatomy and pre-shift inspection, stability and load charts, proper setup and outrigger procedures, communication and hand signals, critical lift planning, and how to avoid common crane hazards.
