About This Course
This refresher course reviews the key elements of WHMIS with the recent updates in December 2022 made under the Hazardous Products Regulations. Learners revisit the purpose of WHMIS and its alignment with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), while also explaining what materials are exempt from WHMIS. Then it goes over the two main hazard groups and how classes, categories, and pictograms communicate risks and reinforces the importance of recognizing hazard symbols quickly in the workplace.
In addition to hazard identification, the training covers the practical tools workers rely on daily: supplier and workplace labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Participants will review the required components of each type of label and SDS. The course also highlights the responsibilities of both employers and workers. Afterwards, the user will test their knowledge with a final exam.

- Pass Requirements
- A mark of of 80% must be achieved in order to pass this course. Participants are expected to repeat the test three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark.

Is there a time limit for online courses?
Everyone learns at a different pace and everyone retains information differently. When you take a course online, you go at your own speed. If you get to a certain point and don’t fully understand the material, you can pause and go back for a review. On the other hand, if everything makes perfect sense, you can go straight through the entire course right to the test.
How does virtual proctoring/testing with webcam monitoring work?
When you start your test, you will be monitored via your webcam. If you disappear from the screen or appear to be consulting another device or other material, you will be disqualified from the course.
