Equipment Safety Essentials
Knowing how to properly use common equipment can make the difference between a great day and a terrible one. Falling off of a ladder hurts (ask anyone who’s done it), and fires tend not to go out just by asking them nicely. This safety series is designed to familiarize you with how to use some of the most important equipment you are likely to handle on a regular basis.

What You'll Learn
- How to properly carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
- How to use a two-wheeled handcart (even over steps and curbs and things!).
- How to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire.
- How to safely use various common power tools.
- The dangers of distracted driving, and how to avoid it.
- You’ve probably seen plenty of videos of people falling off of ladders, and a few photos of people putting ladders on top of other ladders. And we’ll admit, watching dumb people do dumb things is hilarious. But we’d rather you not do it yourself. This video will teach you the basics of ladder safety, and you’ll also learn the 5 worst ways to spend your day. Hint: one of them involves the Backstreet Boys. What exactly do the Backstreet Boys have to do with ladder safety? You’ll going to have to watch the video to find out!
- This video will make sure you know how to use a handcart without injuring yourself, others, or the thing that you’re carrying. It also features ice cream and a famous wizard. How can such a short safety video have so many cool things? Because we’re great at what we do.
- We hope you’ll never be in a position to need a fire extinguisher. But if you are, you should probably know how to use one, since throwing it at a fire won’t really do the trick. You’ll get a see a few wrong ways to do this, along with the right one. And there might be some s’mores in here, you never know.
- Power tools are awesome, which is why we decided to invent them. They’re also pretty useful, as anyone who’s tried to chop a tree down will happily tell you. And they can also be very dangerous. This video is designed to make sure you use your power tools as safely as possible. This video also has some killer dance moves. Trust us – you’ll know what we’re talking about when you see it.
- Cars are fantastic. They get us places way faster than walking. They also sometimes crash into walls and trees and other cars. So this video will help make sure you use your vehicle for the first reason, and not for the second one. You’ll also see the sweetest ride you can possible imagine. A McLaren? A Ferrari? Even better, people. Even better.

Maybe that “somebody” is you.
Now I know. You’re already falling asleep, because you think these videos are going to be a bunch of tedious lectures. Well you are wrong! Safety may not be a laughing matter, but that doesn’t mean you can’t laugh while learning how to be safe.
