About This Course
A truck's Positive Air Shutdown (PAS) system is one of it's most important safety features, and they are now federally required on any trucks involved in the transportation of certain classes of dangerous goods. However, despite this, many operators do not know the basics regarding the operation and testing of their PAS systems.
This online course is designed to familiarize commercial vehicle operators with this crucial safety device by explaining the functionality of Positive Air Shutdown systems, as well as the basic steps required to properly test their operational status. Training in these areas is crucial for ensuring a truck's PAS system is in fully-functioning condition, and can therefore properly protect an operator in the event of an emergency.

- Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course three times if the pass mark is not achieved. Supplemental materials to help you complete the course will be made available upon registration.

Is there a time limit for online courses?
Everyone learns at a different pace and everyone retains information differently. When you take a course online, you go at your own speed. If you get to a certain point and don’t fully understand the material, you can pause and go back for a review. On the other hand, if everything makes perfect sense, you can go straight through the entire course right to the test.
How does virtual proctoring/testing with webcam monitoring work?
When you start your test, you will be monitored via your webcam. If you disappear from the screen or appear to be consulting another device or other material, you will be disqualified from the course.
