About This Course
This online Traffic Control Person - Temporary Conditions course teaches the techniques, equipment, and legal requirements for Traffic Control Persons in a road construction environment. It explains the importance of wearing the proper protective equipment, how to effectively control traffic in a variety of construction scenarios, and general safety and legal requirements. This course is written to comply with the Ontario Traffic Manual - Book 7 - Temporary Conditions (2022 edition) and OSHA Safety Standards (USA).
This course is valid in Alberta, not valid in BC where the course needs to be taken in person.
Other provinces will need to check with their local Transport Authority and employer to determine validity.

- Pass Requirements
- Knowledge testing is conducted throughout the course. Test questions are designed to reinforce the information presented and must be completed by each participant. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Each participant is allowed to repeat the course TWICE if the course pass mark has not been achieved on the first attempt.

Is there a time limit for online courses?
Everyone learns at a different pace and everyone retains information differently. When you take a course online, you go at your own speed. If you get to a certain point and don’t fully understand the material, you can pause and go back for a review. On the other hand, if everything makes perfect sense, you can go straight through the entire course right to the test.
How does virtual proctoring/testing with webcam monitoring work?
When you start your test, you will be monitored via your webcam. If you disappear from the screen or appear to be consulting another device or other material, you will be disqualified from the course.
